1-to-1 Kitchens have been in The Directory for 16 years as specialists in kitchen design and fit, with many excellent references. They are happy to project manage and undertake the full job, from design to decoration, or part of it. They provide itemised estimates, 3D CAD pictures, experienced fitters with an eye for detail, tiling, flooring, decorating, fully qualified plasterers, electricians and Gas Safe plumbers. Fully insured. During their initial discussions with 1-to-1, many clients are surprised to discover that they can in fact afford quality independent brands of kitchen. However, 1-to-1 are also happy to design and fit almost any brand - including IKEA, Wickes, Magnet, B&Q, John Lewis, and the trade only suppliers Howdens and Benchmarx, working to the same high standards and with the same expertise for all. Many clients praise 1-to-1’s expert independent advice as to where to buy in the jungle of kitchen suppliers and their so-called 'special offers' and what will best suit their needs.  'Thank you for giving us the kitchen of our dreams – real quality and expertise, without spending a fortune.'

Colin visited our house to fit a breakfast bar in our kitchen. We had all the parts delivered and Colin and his nephew arrived at 08:00 on the day of the fitting. They were fantastic, very friendly and approachable. They worked super hard all day and did an outstanding job. We are absolutely thrilled with our new breakfast bar and are very grateful for Colin and his nephew's friendly professionalism.

We have recently had our kitchen renovated and renewed by Colin and his nephew Nathan. This is the second time we have used Colin's services. He previously fitted a lovely kitchen and bathroom in my father's old house in 2012. We had been impressed with Colin's vast knowledge of all things kitchen and bathroom related, his design flair and willingness to alter items cabinets etc where required to fit the plan. We knew then we would be asking him to quote the next time we needed a kitchen replacement. So we have again been impressed with his design for what is a rather difficult space that needed to be not only a kitchen but also a breakfast room and incorporating utility appliances as well.Lots of information was provided for appliances, cabinets, drawers, storage, extractors and bins and where to purchase them.We bought the kitchen cabinets from one of Colin's online recommendations at a saving compared to other sources. Overall we are delighted with the kitchen and the finish is immaculate. Colin does not leave anything less than perfect.Quotes are very detailed and show all pricing. Other trades introduced by Colin were also excellent and competitively priced. We would definitely recommend Colin and team to anyone looking to replace /refurbish their kitchen or bathroom.

I was having problems with a kitchen installation being carried out by John Lewis recommended fitters. Unhappy with aspects of the work I brought in Colin to cast his professional eye over the problem issues / offer advice on what needed to be done to rectify. Very impressed with Colin's professionalism in both identifying the key issues and his recommendations on what the fitters needed to do to address properly. Would definitely recommend Colin.

We’re delighted with small job completed by 1-to-Kitchens for the design build and install of an island into our kitchen. We started with only knowing we wanted to match the existing Silestone Blanco Norte worktop but Colin helped us think through the size, shape, placement and building a template for us was very useful. We were presented with plenty of choices as to materials allowing us to select LarkandLarks doors and panels which were good quality and very stylish. The match of the worktop from their supplier Latino was excellent and I particularly appreciated the efforts to source it when we stumbled over a surprise manufacturer delay (due to a bulk order from elsewhere. I found pricing to be fully transparent and reasonable and the flexibility offered is really welcome when we added in some other jobs (realign existing kitchen doors, replace existing worktop sealant). The work is very thorough, precise and tidy which is important for us and we enjoyed having Colin and team work with us.

After seeing quite a few tradesmen about our kitchen refurbishment we were delighted to find Colin, who was very knowledgeable, professional and shared our attention to detail. We had pretty much decided on a Howden’s kitchen but Colin very helpfully pointed out that we could get a better quality kitchen without having to compromise on our ideal design and for a lower price, by getting the (Bella) doors from an online company and carcasses/drawers from three other sources (B&Q, Ikea and Dynamic Drawers). What’s more, he was willing to coordinate all this and customise where necessary! His quote/proposal was far more detailed than any other we’d received and gave us confidence that he’d thought the job through carefully. The tradesmen used (plumber, electrician, plasterer) were all good and very reasonably priced. Part way through the work, a leak from the bathroom above, which we thought had been fixed, reappeared. Colin and Nathan went beyond their remit to identify the source of the problem and fix it asap in order to minimise delay to the kitchen job. The work turned out to take a bit longer than estimated (which I understand to be unusual for them), as it involved more plastering than their typical jobs and we had pretty wonky walls, but Colin and Nathan worked very hard to keep to schedule as much as possible and only charged us what they’d set out in their initial quote. We ended up paying towards the top end of our (fairly modest) budget but we are thrilled with our kitchen and feel that what we saved on the kitchen materials was worth spending on Colin and Nathan’s labour to get a great quality finish and to employ people we really felt we could trust. They clearly pride themselves on doing a great job and really care about customer satisfaction. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found them and would wholeheartedly recommend them!

Having spoken to a broad range of kitchen retailers I was left with confusing and conflicting information and costs which were far too expensive given the size of my property. At the point of giving up I was told to speak to 1-to-1 Kitchens. From the first meeting I was provided with detailed designs and a break down of recommendations. I was very impressed with the freedom I had in choosing designs and was able to make changes (if required) as the work was being undertaken. All work is first class and am delighted with the final result, this was also reflected when the invoice came in under my budget!

So glad we used 1-to-1 Kitchens. Colin helped us through the design phase with some great ideas and advice. His knowledge, planning and attention to detail means we now have the most fantastic kitchen we could have hoped for. Colin and Nathan were very professional and flexible during the fitting as were the trades they organised. It was a pleasure to have them here. The programme and costings were explained in detail, totally transparent and updated during the fitting and the final figure was bang on the quote and our budget. I have no hesitation in recommending 1-to-1.

We required a partial refit of our kitchen. Colin gave us some very good advice on design and what was possible. His expertise was invaluable and he made suggestions we had not thought of. The work on the kitchen was done to a high standard, the only hiccup was that Colin had some unforeseen family issues to resolve which meant he could not be on site for a few days. The refit was finished within budget, except for a couple of extras which were fully discussed. We were very happy with the finished result. Colin & Nathan were tidy workers, professional and courteous.

We approached 1-to-1 Kitchens nearly 4 years ago after a recommendation. We originally had a quote from Wickes to fit a new kitchen. We approached 1-to-1 Kitchens and played around with a few ideas to modify the kitchen slightly and saved thousands. From start to finish the fit was very professional. The advice given was extremely helpful, the quality of the workmanship was second to none and even more importantly the tidying up at the end of each day. We were so happy with the completed project that after nearly 4 years we have decided to refit the utility room and went to back to 1-to-1 Kitchens for some help and advice. They managed to get us a good price on the units and the advice was given free of charge. We felt we just had to write this review to let everybody else know how good and professional they are.

When my wife and I decided that our kitchen could not be bodged up again, we had some discussions with a number of salespeople from national companies. We were not confident that promises made and assurance given would be fulfilled so we contacted Colin Brown because we liked what we saw on his website and the fact that he could project manage the job from start to finish. We were not disappointed. Colin initially spent about 2 hours with us discussing the layout of our kitchen and offered observations and solutions that we had not considered and problems and opportunities we had overlooked. The experience was very relaxed and unpressured and within a few days we received a very detailed quote from him. He also pointed us towards various ranges of units which suited the style we wanted, within the budget and where we could view them. We finally decided to install Second Nature's Avant Alabaster units. Three years on and we are as pleased with the look and quality of those units as we were on the day they were installed. We opted for a curved worktop which required specialist cutting which Colin organised. The effect was to visually enlarge what is a not very large kitchen/diner. Using his industry contacts, Colin also organised the ordering of the units and white goods at prices well below the High Street. Colin and Nathan worked with concentration and long, but always with good humour. Other trades (electrician/plasterer/plumber) organised by Colin were always prompt and efficient and we were satisfied with their work. The quality of the carpentry work carried out by Colin and Nathan was detailed and first class. After more than a year out of guarantee we did have a problem with the dishwasher - a creaking door. Colin spent several hours rectifying an issue which was not of his making. He declined to charge for his time. I have recommended Colin to others and, without exception, they have been very please with his work. If you are looking to upgrade your kitchen/bathroom/bedroom I suggest you contact Colin. You will be glad that you did.

I cannot speak highly enough about 1-to-1 Kitchens. I had a nightmare experience having bought an induction hob from a well known departmental store. I don't know enough about hobs and I wasn't directed sufficiently in the store. I was only looking at the model style and whether the hob would fit in my worktop in the place where my previous hob had been. The delivery date came and I had paid for the fitting. The fitters said that they could not fit the hob due to the electrics needing to be changed a 20 amp breaker was required. I had the electrics changed in due course and to get to the point a second group of fitters from the departmental store also said that they couldn't fit the hob due to other completely different matters such as combustion distances etc . My house is Grade 2 listed dated 1542 there is a lot of wood about. I consulted the Citizens Advice Bureau and we phoned Neff who said there wasn't any problem about combustion or distances in my kitchen. At this point I phoned 1-to-1 Kitchens and heard the voice of sanity. Colin spoke coming from a place of a mass of experience with kitchen fitting, and he confirmed that there wasn't problem with my kitchen. He is a 'can do' person. He came up with a solution for me and suggested a strengthened glass splash back and recommended a reasonably priced supplier. He said he would phone them that very day. We made an appointment for Colin to measure my wall as it isn't level. This was done easily and promptly. Everything is in place now in the kitchen and I am delighted. I greatly appreciated the advice and the support from 1-to -1 Kitchens as I have said it was a voice of sanity in the middle of something which did not make a lot of sense.  It took 3 months from the date of delivery of the hob to the actual final fitting date due to the ill informed departmental store fitters. 1-to -1 Kitchens were great and definitely a business that finds solutions effectively and promptly. I cannot recommend them enough.

My kitchen wall cupboards had fallen down. I called and Mr Brown came round to see the job, said they could do it and the next day provided me with a very reasonable price. The job was subsequently carried out to a very high standard and the fitter who came was very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Colin and Nathan are excellent carpenters who have consistently done every job asked of them exceedingly well. Every job they do themselves is of the highest standard and quality. We hired them to fit our kitchen, although delayed, the fit and finish of the kitchen is excellent and their advice and workmanship has been tremendously useful and detailed.

We recently used 1to1 Kitchens to cut and fit replacement wooden bath panels and to hide unsightly WC pipework with the offcuts; this was quite an intricate job. We chose this business as Colin Brown had undertaken work for us about 5 years earlier by way of supplying and fitting wall units to a utility room and surrounds to a new boiler. All the work was done to our entire satisfaction and the rooms left in pristine condition. The charges were reasonable and we have no hesitation in recommending them for similar work. As senior citizens it is a pleasure to deal with a quality organisation which takes pride in their work.

I used Colin Brown at 1-to-1 Kitchens to take out an under the counter fridge and freezer and place units there instead, and to re-use the existing doors. Also, he removed some other units in the kitchen to make room for an American style fridge freezer and moved it into its new place. This was an inexpensive way of transforming our kitchen. Colin was extremely knowledgeable when quoting for the job and gave us some great advice and identified any potential pitfalls. He was responsive and came to do the job on time and was very professional. His quote was accurate and the quality of the work was superb. We are delighted and would use Colin without hesitation for any future jobs. When we have enough money to be able replace the whole kitchen we will use him. Thanks Colin!

I hired NuFit to design and fit a new kitchen for a tenanted property in Reading. Being largely off-site, trustworthiness and reliability were the two most important factors. In these regards, and in the overall quality of work, I was delighted with my decision to hire NuFit. They worked diligently, thoroughly and provided excellent after-fit support. I would recommend you consider NuFit if you're looking for independent, knowledgeable tradesmen who deliver good quality outcomes.

18 months ago we asked Colin to redesign & fit our kitchen. He visited & gave expert advice on everything from choice of units, sinks, flooring, worktops & even taps! Colin & his nephew Nathan carried out the majority of the work themselves - to an extremely high standard & Colin engaged & oversaw all other trades (electrician, plumber, plasterer), completely project managing the whole process. He is completely trustworthy, reliable & experienced and both he and Nathan worked extremely hard & produced an excellent result. We were so pleased with our kitchen that in the following 6 months we asked Colin to refit our bathroom & ensuite shower room - both producing challenges which were met with good humour & determination to overcome! Both finished to the extremely high standard we had come to expect. We would highly recommend Colin to anyone considering Kitchen or Bathroom work & would assure them that they will be delighted with the result!

Colin has fitted a new kitchen and bathroom for us and I cannot give him enough praise.  I was first attracted to his business by virtue of the fact that he is willing to do as little or as much as you require and he was true to his word.  Colin is not happy unless his work is nothing short of perfect.  He appears to relish a challenge too and we certainly presented him with some but he gave the issues many hours of thought and research and we are totally satisfied with the results. He is completely trustworthy, reliable and experienced and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

We first approached Colin about ten years ago to undertake some carpentry work and were sufficiently pleased with the results that we asked him to fit out a good-sized kitchen in a rental property, in need of a complete overhaul.  Colin gave considerable thought to producing a choice of designs using a budget kitchen range whilst adapting them to make superb use of the space.  He worked long and hard to complete the job in the promised timescale and on budget.  We have complete confidence in Colin and shall be inviting him to redesign our own tired kitchen.

We used Colin to design and install our kitchen as I had been very impressed by his standard of work and attitude while working alongside him as an electrician on several previous extensions and kitchen projects. Our kitchen has many intricate nooks and awkward shapes that required good design ideas and a high level of skill that I would not have trusted to a less experienced installer. He also has good relationships with the kitchen manufacturers and suppliers that reduced the overall cost.
