Michael has done a couple of jobs for us recently, both completed very efficiently, with minimum of disruption. His work was competitively priced, and communications beforehand were excellent.

Happy to recommend this company. I needed the old wooden leaky cladding replaced, as well as replacing the guttering. Michael was quick to respond with an initial quote, and from start to finish kept me informed. The new upvc cladding looks so much better, as does the guttering. Very polite and friendly and cleaned up afterwards. Very happy customer.

We had a small leak through a flat roof, Mick came quickly and identified a couple of broken tiles responsible, they worked carefully and did not rush while cutting and replacing 3 slate tiles. Very good price and nice to deal with, coming back to do a bit more maintenance soon. Highly recommend AMP roofing.

Our new house had had spray foam insulation installed 6 years ago, sadly leading to damage of the rafters in our roof. Michael came to inspect and followed this us with a clear description of works required as well as cost breakdown. This meant a near full roof replacement with (in the end) 24 rafters, battons, membrane and tiles all being replaced. Although a big job, Michael and his team worked so efficiently even with bad weather and completed the job to a really high standard within the week. We are really happy with the new roof and couldn't recommend Michael highly enough.

We have a pitched roof kitchen extension and the slate tiles were in poor condition after about 25 years and leaking through the roof in heavy rain. We wanted to replace the roof with modern slate style plus a velux window to add much-needed light into our dark kitchen. Michael came over to inspect the inside and outside and provided a detailed written quotation via email broken down so we knew how much each part was. He gave us very good advice on the window type - I was considering a much more expensive electric type but with Michael's advice we went with a standard type and a great decision that was. The quotation price was very reasonable and actually significantly less than one other quote we had. On the first day of work Michael explained what would be done in what order and kept us informed along the way. He had a co-worker with him and they quickly got to work. The standard of work was excellent and the finish of the tiles and flashing looks fantastic and aligns perfectly with our neighbours which was very pleasing. On the inside Michael boxed in a section into the roof leading to the window and plastered perfectly. I left it a couple of days to dry and applied a few coats of watered-down white emulsion and the fully finished effect has seriously transformed our kitchen, flooding wonderful natural light in.....so much so we are planning on knocking a wall through from the kitchen into our dining room!. Overall an extremely professional piece of work, completed at an excellent standard at a great price and with a friendly and very skilful Michael. Highly recommended and AMP Roofing are due to replace our loose mortar and re-repointing our chimney stack soon!

Michael installed UPVC cladding for fascias and soffits, plus new guttering to our bungalow in 2 days with very pleasing results. He is a true professional and I recommend AMP without reservation - high standard and competitive pricing.

Michael and his team were helpful from first to last. Michael provided a detailed quote by email, and accommodated my changing requests. Michael updated me on the date he would be visiting. He clearly knows his stuff - I was impressed that he could narrow down the date my exiting roof slates had been fitted to a specific five year period. Michael and team worked efficiently and tidily. Work done: replacement gutter, downpipe and fascia; roof cleared of moss and treated; downpipe replaced and re-routed. I will employ AMP roofing again and would recommend them. A number of other local companies did not respond to my enquiries. Michael was courteous, and warned me that he was busy and had a number of orders on his books - but he kept to his timeframe.

Mike from AMP Roofing did an absolutely amazing job replacing my guttering, fascia and soffits at the beginning of the month.  They were very prompt, clean and polite and friends and family have said how good it looks.

Michael at AMP Roofing was recommended to me by a colleague at work. 

Once contacted we arranged a time for him to come and view the house. 

He looked over the roof and fed back to me with photo evidence what he recommended would require doing; both essential and less urgent work.

Michael has carried out the following work so far:

-          Gutter clearance

-          Repair of flat roof

-          Repair of lead flashings on chimney

-          Replace lead valleys

And is coming back next week to carry out the following:

-          replace rotted front gables fascia

-          incorporate a new guttering outlet and down pipe  

When Michael has carried out work at the house he:

-          Always keeps to the agreed dates or if delayed (due to adverse weather) he would contact me to tell me so I knew exactly when to expect him

-          Is always punctual

-          Is very courteous, friendly and offers advice if needed

-          Provides photo evidence of work where cannot be seen from ground and looks of high quality

-          Removes all waste material and leaves areas very tidy

The tasks I needed were replacement of an old Velux window and to investigate and repair a leaking roof over a Dormer window.

After a number of other roofing companies and considerable variances in the cost and details of work I contacted AMP Roofing, Michael Alexander.

 

From the initial email requesting whether Michael could come and take a look the responses were fast and polite.  We organised a time that was suitable and Michael arrived promptly.

 

During the initial visit Michael took the time to understand my requirements and issues and suggested a number of alternatives for both the roof repair and the Velux window options.  I was particularly impressed when Michael stated that I wouldn’t necessarily need a whole new valley and that a simple repair would be possible and cheaper, a very different and honest approach in comparison to other roofing companies I had seen.

 

After a discussion on best options I settled on the full valley replacement as time was pressing as it was impacting me getting the nursery ready (the internal wall had water damage).

 

The Velux replacement was for my bathroom, the original was 27 years old and not in best condition from previous owners. Again, unlike some of my other roofing estimates which intimated major issues with my roof, Michael explained the options and how the new profile would sit different internally requiring minor redecorating, and that the external tiles were not sitting correctly.  All this information really helps to inform you as a customer on the best option for your needs.

 

The quotation was provided via email as promised and was cheaper than the other estimates I had received so we agreed to proceed with AMP Roofing.

 

Michael accommodated my needs for flexibility and changed his preferred slot to enable the work to fit around my work pattern.  He arrived exactly when he said he would and took two days to complete all the works, exactly as estimated, and for the price he quoted.

 

Michael not only sorted out a Velux variant which meant the new Velux fitted exactly as the original, but he also repaired free of charge some missing mortar on a ridge tile on a separate part of the house. I had mentioned it on the second day and that I would need to get him back at some point, before I knew it he had popped the ladder up and repaired it, I asked how much extra for the work and he stated “I am not going to charge you for 5 minutes work”. Wow!

 

The work on both the valley replacement and Velux is superb and you honestly would not of guessed anybody had been working at the house when he had finished because he cleaned everything at the end of each working day.

 

I can not recommend AMP Roofing highly enough for being honest, thorough in his work with outstanding quality. 

 

I am an electrician myself and my retired father was a builder so I am well calibrated when it comes to how good a professional should be and Michael ticks all the right boxes for me.

 

I have more work to do around the home and have no doubts that Michael will be the person I trust to come back and undertake the work for me.

The job was reroofing two conjoined sheds on our property, not a major job but rather awkward due to previous owners neglecting them and the position  [surrounded by holly and overhanging trees]. Michael removed old material, made minor woodwork repairs, and covered the roof in high grade flat roof material using heat to apply. 

Michael was very professional, very easy to deal with and has an honest and straightforward demeanour.

Michael attended the property on time, as agreed, to quote for the job. He gave a verbal quote and an official one by email the same day.

Michael agreed a date, offering a two day window to allow for poor weather. He informed us early n the AM that he would not be able to do the work on the first day, which was obvious given the rain and wind but was still appreciated.

Michael arrived early on the second day and performed the work in quick fashion, finishing mid afternoon.

Job was done first time, site was clean when he left, and we have had no issues with the roof since. 

Job was done for the agreed amount of the quote, and was billed same day for clarity.
