not perfect, is probably as good as it gets.
What
is the aim of The Directory of Excellence?
To be
the first local source of information and reference on some of
the best local businesses. We try to endorse those businesses
which set themselves high standards, provide good value and have
proper regard for you, the customer. |
Where
do recommendations come from?
They come via friends, interested readers, the featured businesses
and, increasingly, visitors to our website.
No
one gets into The Directory unless we have prior recommendation
or adequate references. Nevertheless you should also seek your
own assurances from the businesses and always exercise common
sense in your dealings; ensuring that matters of material importance
are in writing and that payment terms are fair and reasonable.

with Confidence
We have launched a Trade with Confidence scheme whereby we record
up-to-date client testimonials on our website; the business entries
are flagged with a rosette icon on the website. Whilst this scheme
is still in its infancy, it will increase in importance
as time goes by.

together with our FREEPOST address. You can contact us via our
website, which has links to all the websites for the businesses
featured. If you have recommendations for new businesses or comments
on existing ones – favourable or otherwise – we want
to hear from you. We will exclude any business where we are aware
of continuing poor service, any malpractice or bad workmanship.
Whilst we can only exclude a business from the next version of
the book, we can immediately remove them from our website. If
you don’t tell us, we don’t know. |
